Information Security Specialist
Location: Remote with occassional travel to Dublin and UK offices
A fast-growing, international technology company operating in a highly regulated sector is seeking an experienced Information Security Specialist to join its expanding security team.
This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining and continuously improving an ISO 27001-certified Information Security Management System (ISMS). You'll work closely with engineering, DevOps, IT and governance teams to embed security into day-to-day operations and help drive a proactive, continuous compliance approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and enhance an ISO 27001-certified ISMS.
- Prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring controls and evidence are audit-ready.
- Manage security risks, CAPAs and control improvements.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards and procedures.
- Conduct vendor and customer security assessments.
- Validate technical security controls, including MFA, RBAC, SIEM, EDR and vulnerability management.
- Deliver security awareness initiatives and promote a strong security culture.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to embed secure-by-design practices.
Required Experience
- 5+ years' experience in Information Security, Security Governance or ISMS.
- Strong hands-on experience with ISO 27001 and audit management.
- Experience managing risk registers, compliance activities and security documentation.
- Understanding of cloud security principles (AWS and/or Azure).
- Ability to work effectively with engineering and technical teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
- Experience within healthcare, life sciences, medical devices, SaaS or another regulated industry.
- Knowledge of SOC 2, ISO 27701, GDPR, HIPAA, CIS Controls or Medical Device Regulations.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Lead Implementer.
